Dating the It Guy by Krysten Lindsay Hager @KrystenLindsay #WeekendBlitz #Review

Thank you for joining me on another fabulous weekend blitz, I'm delighted to be sharing my review of Dating the It Guy by Krysten Lindsay Hager.

First of all though let's take a look at the description for the book...

Emme is a sophomore in high school who starts dating, Brendon Agretti, the popular senior who happens to be a senator's son and well-known for his good looks. Emme feels out of her comfort zone in Brendon's world and it doesn't help that his picture perfect ex, Lauren seems determined to get back into his life along with every other girl who wants to be the future Mrs. Agretti. Emme is already conflicted due to the fact her last boyfriend cheated on her and her whole world is off kilter with her family issues. Life suddenly seems easier keeping Brendon away and relying on her crystals and horoscopes to guide her. Emme soon starts to realize she needs to focus less on the stars and more on her senses. Can Emme get over her insecurities and make her relationship work? Life sure is complicated when you're dating the it guy.

I think it's safe to say that I had certain expectations when I picked up this story however I was pleasantly surprised. This was a story that had extra depth with family issues, romance along with showing life at school for Emme and her friends.

The story moved smoothly and it didn't take me too long to read at all and it was easy to be pulled into Emme's world. I felt sorry for her home situation with her grandparents as it is such a heartbreaking situation.

There is the usual worries that Emme has to contend with as a teenager mainly boyfriend trouble but you also get to see her various friendships play out too. I think some of the things that Emme experiences will resonate with quite a few people, her insecurities and lack of confidence especially in her relationship. She has trust issues that definitely impact on her relationships causing misunderstandings and trouble. Emme is a likeable character and there is also a sweet element to the story that will leave you smiling away.

A story about friendship, love and life especially as a teenager.
